Founded in 1974, the PPAO Institute for Research and Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to improving women’s health care and preventing unintended pregnancy.
The PPAO Institute:
**engages in public affairs, advocacy, communications, organizing, recruitment, and limited lobbying,
**conducts research and publishes reports on reproductive health care and rights issues for public officials and the general public, and
**provides speakers and conducts workshops for conferences and community groups.
The work of the PPAO Institute is critical to ensure a favorable environment for Planned Parenthood health centers to provide family planning services including contraception, pregnancy diagnosis, responsible sexuality education, and access to medically accurate information.
Directed by the chief executive officers of the three Planned Parenthood affiliates in Ohio, PPAO continues to be the leading voice for reproductive choice and freedom in the state.
